A pioneer in manufacturing of reinforcing steel bars in Cebu, Worldwide Steel Corporation is guided by its principle of working for the construction of quality Philippines. This is attained by meticulously blending together the proper ingredients of resources, amnpower and machinery to produce superior quality steel bars for demanding clients.

It had its humble beginnings in 1976 as Cebu Worldwide Hardware and Electrical Supply. It then strictly carried a complete line of only the highest-grade tools, electrical and construction materials. Already showing great promise at its early stages of growth, the company was the biggest distributor of National Steel Corporation (NSC), a manufacturer of rebars and other steel products. It was only a matter of time when the company had to address the pressing needs of clientele by refocusing its business operations and undertaking immediate full expansion.

With Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Ong's shared vision of playing the key role in steel manufacturing in the future, they started operating their first line of a handmill which produced small-sized steel bars not available in NSC. It was then the leading manufacturer and supplier of steel products. In 1987, another opportunity for expansion presented itself upon the closure of NSC's bar mill. Worldwide Steel readily stepped up to the challenge by adding a second line of rebar rolling mill. This time, it focuses on manufacturing their own steel bars.

The company operates in a plant site of 2.5 hectares. Its production of high-quality steel is entrusted to the most capable hands. Employees are over a hundred; they are highly skilled and well-trained ones. Expertise of updated consultants and advisers from all over the world in unquestionable.

At Worldwide Steel, quality is a premium. To ensure that only world-class quality finished products reach its end-customers, it has an in-house testing center that carries a Universal Testing Machine to monitor and check the physical and mechanical properties of the steel bars.
